.::UT2003 Build 2122 Beta 4 Patch ::. - Oct 24,02

  Even though I was gona wait...I decided to go on and install this beta patch.
I LOVE IT! I dont have any problems with it and everything is great. I love how you can change the opasity of the HUD and change the size. Also the announcer's voice can be lowered. Not including you can chat in the In-Game IRC chat program! w00t
Here is the some of the new features...

Changes since the last version:
- improved instagib beams
- no shooting through people in classic instagib (just like it was in UT), you can still shoot through them in zoom instagib
- fixed voicetype replication
- fixed CTF-Citadel KillZ
- fixed packages.md5 corruption bug
- 30 rockets max
- more server memory use fixes

As a fleet of marines returns from a training mission, they cannot get in contact with earth. Nobody replies or sends out any signals. As the fleet commands decide to go down, they get under heavy attack by unknown weapons. It seems to be a kind of plasma charge. Soon the brave Lieutenant decides to go down with his team to check out the situation on earth. Short time after their arrival, they see that earth is dead and has been overrun by dangerous creatures. So they grab equipment and return up to the fleet and report it to the other fleet ships and marines. As soon as they have mobilized their fleet ships and marines, they go down to earth to stand the most dangerous fight that has ever been fought.

You are taking on the role of the brave Lieutenant I just mentioned. You and your team are going to be fighting almost all the time.

Victim played for 32 hours non-stop
Just days after the first 'internet overdose', another addict has died after a marathon games binge.
The 27 year-old Taiwanese man collapsed after playing computer games for 32 hours non-stop.

Police confirmed that Lien Wen-cheng started playing at the cyber cafe in Fengyuan in central Taiwan at 10.30pm on Thursday.

At 7am on Saturday, a staff member found the man on the floor of the cafe's toilet foaming at the mouth and bleeding from the nose. "They rushed him to hospital but he was already dead," local police said.

A police spokesman stated that doctors believe Wen-cheng died from exhaustion, having remained in the same position for too long. The death highlights the danger of such intensive game-playing.

Less than 10 days ago, a 24 year-old South Korean man died at an internet cafe in Kwangju, 260km outside Seoul, after playing continuously for 86 hours.

Psychologist Peter Watson explained that playing games over prolonged periods without sleep places the body under considerable stress.

"Depending on the game, the brain is receiving [the impression] that it is constantly under attack," he said.

"We would not expect hardened soldiers to cope with a 32-hour fire fight, and yet some people think they can play these games constantly for long periods of time."

Take a break! Its just a game... :-)

UP: Which weapon is your favorite for UT and UT2k3?

Hm, y'know, I've always said 'flak', but according to my stats, apparently I'm a rocket queen, so either or. I keep rockets, flak, and sniper rifle on keybinds - the rest of the guns I'm indifferent about, except the shock rifle and green slime which rank just below the air rifle and chainsaw, IMHO.

UP: Are you a full 2k3 convert, or do you still need the occasional UT fix? Was it an easy switch from UT to 2k3, or has it taken you awhile to get used to the new weapons and moves?

Whoops, guess I pretty much answered all of that in the last one! But I am definitely still a UT junkie, and I will be until my UT2k3 skills have improved considerably. It's practically a form of therapy for me to sit down and unwind with a good UT fragging before bed every night, and it's just not as satisfying to keep getting my butt whupped in UT2k3 while I yell, "hang on, I'm gonna kick your ass, as soon as I figure out which gun to use here..."

  Thanks to my buds from the makers of PNC(AHmad Kamal & Shohdy Abd el kader) the 1.0 version is out! Here is what has changed since the last beta was out!
Fixes on this build.

1- Network code improved.
2- Added In-game make session and disconnect from session
    (gamers oriented feature)
3- More user friendly with multi line tool tips
4- Improved installation system
5- Changed default talk key to be "Left Control" for ease of use.
